1951 Ferrari 340 America Barchetta To Go To Auction for £7m
Another Ferrari is poised to go to auction and command another silly price.
The 1951 Ferrari 340 America Barchetta is expected to fetch over £7m when it goes to auction on May 14th.
The car will be auctioned off by Sotheby’s in the glorious backdrop of Monaco (Literally the wealth that will be there, this will look like a lunch bill)
The current owner, Pierre Bardinon (Mas du Clos Collection Owner), joins the list of previous owners.
The Ferrari 340 America Barchetta was raced at Le Mans by Pierre Louis-Dreyfus, a French war hero who flew 81 bombing missions against the Nazis.
The race ended prematurely for the car though as it was disqualified for incorrectly fuelling as a result of an oversight by Louis Chiron, the second driver in the Le Mans race.
The car did show promise however recording the 11th fastest lap for the whole race despite only completing 29 laps of the 24 hour race spectacle.
Anyway if you have a spare £7m – £10m, then get yourself down to Monaco for the 14th.
