Whole Foods Decided To Sell Pre-Peeled Oranges. Causes Outrage on Twitter.
Whole Foods recently launched Pre-Peeled oranges for their shelves in stores.
One eagle eyed shopper decided to take a pic of them in situ at Whole Foods and upload to twitter.
The response was huge.
Nathalie Gordon, a London Based Advertising Creative, tweeted a photo of the offending product with the following caption:
If only nature would find a way to cover these oranges so we didn't need to waste so much plastic on them. pic.twitter.com/00YECaHB4D

The tweet from the Ex Canfordian received over 180k interactions and has since caused Whole Foods to remove the product from their shelves.
Whilst this was to the joy of most nature lovers, it prompted some angrily juicy tweets including this one from Goblin of Color:

Some arguing that people with a disability that renders them unable to peel an orange would have benefited from this product.
Whilst we understand this, it doesn’t warrant the excess packaging which goes against the oranges natural packaging, its peel.
So we have some simple work arounds. Get a knife and cut the thing. Drink pure fresh orange juice. Try those little baby versions that are easier to peel. Eat an apple.
